JOB TITLE: Technician

Department/Group : Metro Fiber

Job description

  • • The OSP technician will be responsible to support the outside plant engineer on outside cable plant network that is in place, being installed, and/or that can be obtained and installed to promote efficient and effective operations of the network
  • • The OSP technician will accomplish tasks with little or no direct supervision and perform tasks with other work group members and will comply with all applicable safety laws and regulations
  • • Splicing of fiber optic cables. Prepare and maintain splicing records, schematics and diagrams.
  • • Ability to use OTDR
  • • Perform Work in accordance with industry standards. Read and follow design engineers instructions and specifications, maintain the scope of work on the project and adhere to safety procedures.
  • • Enter and maintain outside plant records
  • • Troubleshooting fiber optic cable fault and carry out fiber optic cable survey
  • • Sketch what is captured in the field.
  • • Daily OLT monitoring
  • • Determine the interior routing of cable by performing physical walkouts including documenting footages and access points.
  • • Perform routine maintenance. Recognize and repair route issues including Hand Hole cleanup, sign placement, and weed control.
  • • Capture additional customers that could get service once construction is completed.


Job Requirements

  • • Must have minimum of OND in electrical/electronics or physics electronics or equivalent , CFOT/CFospT
  • • Two years fiber optic experience in terminating and testing
  • • Good manual dexterity
  • • Work well in a team environment
  • • Adaptable to change in a fast pace environment
  • • Ability to stand between 2-3hrs some days

JOB TITLE: Technical Help Desk/Field Support Engineer

Department/Group : Technical/Operations

Job Objective

This role is responsible for effective customer Service and performance delivery in line with the Company’s objective. It interfaces with the Customers, the internal support Team and Upstream Suppliers and coordinates their activities such that ultimately customer satisfaction is achieved.

Job description

  • • Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education
  • • Working on after-sales support services and providing technical back up as required
  • • Arranging and carrying out product training
  • • Work directly with customer service to secure latest products and software releases
  • • Update and maintain product test specifications
  • • Carry out pre-sales site analysis
  • • Provide third level support for field personnel and customers
  • • Work closely with NOC, RF to troubleshoot UE issues in the field

JOB TITLE: Customer Service Officer

Department/Group : Service Management

Job Objective

This role is responsible for effective customer Service and performance delivery in line with the Company’s objective. It interfaces with the Customers, the internal support Team and Upstream Suppliers and coordinates their activities such that ultimately customer satisfaction is achieved.

Job description

  • • Ensure uptime of customer links
  • • Prompt logging, escalation where necessary and resolution of incidence.
  • • Incidence are logged, escalated and followed up to closure
  • • Conduct periodic scans of customer links
  • • Relationship Mgt. of assigned customer group by weekly check up
  • • Ensure that link maintenance are properly scheduled and communicated to customers, providing status report updates.
  • • Ensure Service Monitoring (Internet, wireless, DLC, VSAT) and regular reporting of Service performance to the customers and supplier
  • • Issuance of IPs to new clients and POPs
  • • Treating of POP relocation through IPs issuance and follow up with SSOs for IP change on all monitoring software.
  • • Periodic scanning on a daily basis of Core Infrastructure
  • • Monitoring of Back end infrastructure, reporting and logging of downtimes/POP performance to ensure escalation and resolution

  • • Informs SSOs of maintenance/housekeeping activities required to be done
  • • Actively maintain new links in Nursery for a period of two weeks
  • • Ensure new link is adequately captured in all monitoring software as well as in each POP router
  • • Ensure proper communication with client during and after project phase
  • • Coordinate all documentations required for the project phase on database


Skills & Knowledge

  • • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • • A professional qualification in ITIL and other relevant Service management certifications
  • • Foundational/basic certification in ICT/ Networks such as A+, Network+, CCNA, MCP or any other relevant certification
  • • Knowledge of service Management standards and regulations as well as Global best practices (ISO 20000, IS0 9001)

JOB TITLE: Pre-Sales Engineer

Department/Group : Network Planning and Performance

Job Objective

The Pre-Sales Engineer’s role is to support sales productivity and deal flow by securing the technical close in complex solutions. The Pre-Sales Engineer collaborates with sales, service management, technical support resources to ensure proposed deals include technical solutions that accurately address customer needs, and are appropriately supported by key customer technical decision-makers.

The Pre-Sales Engineer is responsible for achieving profit and productivity made up of combined expectations of the sales resources and other supportive channels.

He or she will also provide level 1 support service to the sales & marketing team.

Key Deliverables

  • •   Proactively scopes the technical solutions required to address customer requirements, assesses customer needs, and recommend solutions that optimize value for the customer and the VDT brand.

Job Objective

This role is responsible for creating a pipeline of new Cloud Solutions opportunities through innovative activities. The preferred candidate must be able to demonstrate thought-leadership through creative ideas that will enable the VDT achieve its Cloud Solutions revenue target.

  • • Ensure all service Systems/Servers are working fine.
  • • Ensure the Maintenance of proper environmental condition in the equipment room.
  • • Participate in various marketing activities, including the preparation and delivery of presentations to prospective clients.
  • • Review and generate appropriate reports on project scope, timeline, budget, etc.
  • • Supervise and maintain control of multiple projects and assignments including work-scheduling, supervision of staff and billing.
  • • Take ownership of Cloud OEM issues and work with the appropriate internal teams to resolve them.
  • • Perform a bouquet of business activities, including: negotiation of terms, collaboration with internal constituents (e.g., product management, engineering, legal, finance, and marketing teams), and developing unique models with prospects and customers.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • • B.Sc/B.A in any relevant discipline.
  • • 3 – 4 Years Post NYSC experience working when a Sales/Business Development team.
